Southend-on-Sea

Here's a set of photos I took in Southend (a seaside resort in Essex) in July 2010. That day was a very hot day, no wonder that after taking photos in scorching sun I was called Miss Tomato :)

Bits of the Brits on Facebook

I have created a fan page on Facebook, I'm going to post photos, videos and links to interesting stuff on the Internet.

So Like it now and stay in touch with Bits of the Brits! ;)

People in Order by Lenka Clayton & James Price

I have found four short documentary videos and decided to share it with you as I think this is something worth watching.

These videos were made by two British artists Lenka Clayton and James Price who is the founder and the owner of Field Studies Ltd, a production company that aims to take a close look at the world we live in.

It's interesting what changes and differences you can observe without leaving home. I like the idea of travelling around Britain, filming random people and making them a part of very absorbing project. When I was watching it for the second time I focused on the background. How people are living, what they're wearing, etc. and I saw a wide cross-section of the Brits.

Here's a more detailed description of the project taken from James Price's website:

The concept behind our films was simple: we asked ourselves if you can reveal something about life by simply arranging people according to scales. Three minutes is a very short time to communicate something – perhaps too short to tell a story, or to get to know a character – so we wanted to make this series by setting ourselves some very straightforward rules, and then following them through over a long trip.(...) Then it was a case of getting in a campervan and driving round Britain, filming as many people as we could over 4 weeks in February, coping with microphones crackling and our camera refusing to work.

I hope you'll enjoy it and get inspired to make your own project!
