Jessie Ware- just another reason to be thankful for British music

I'm in love

I'm speechless

There are no words to describe her music.

Let the music speak.

Life in Five Seconds: Over 200 Stories for Those With No Time to Waste by Quercus

"Life in Five Seconds: Over 200 Stories for Those With No Time to Waste" was published on 1st  November by based in London Quercus and it's definitely a must have for those who love books and graphics.

This collection of ingenious pictograms made by H-57 (a creative studio who deals with design, advertising and illustration)  covers on its 256 pages the world's most famous events, inventions, great lives, places, animals and cultural icons. You know them for sure so now you should see the pictograms.

Here's the description taken from lifeinfiveseconds.com

In our jet-fuelled, caffeine-induced, celebrity-a-minute world, who actually has the time to learn a thing or two?

C’mon, let’s face it, life’s too bloody short.

What you need is instant knowledge.

Life in Five Seconds takes 200 world events, inventions, great lives, places, animals and cultural icons that you really need to know about, and then, hey presto!, cuts away all the useless details.

The Last Supper, Lady Gaga, the moon landings, the Mona Lisa, the invention of electricity, Ikea, the Berlin Wall, celebrity chefs and everything in-between. This is the perfect gift for anyone with a sense of humour … and a short attention span.

So it's easy now: don't waste time, buy the book, download the Quercus Eye app and bring the stories to life.

Hmm.. I already know what I'm getting for Xmas... do you ?:)

Creative Maps of London

Having my day off, I have done literally nothing today. It's been raining all day so the only chance to do something was to stay at home and read books.  Two hours ago I decided to stop reading and look for some nice maps of London. All of them I found on the Internet.

I love them.

Very colourful, very creative.

Which one is your favourite?

The Art of Window Displays

As you know there are hundreds of interesting topics about Brits to be covered but today I want you to have a closer look at the shop displays during the Olympics 2012.

When 6 years ago I heard that the 2012 Olympics were going to be held in London I couldn’t be happier. It was the time I was already in love with London so it could mean only one thing: two things I truly love at the same place at the same time! I was desperately waiting for the 6 years to pass.

I was lucky enough because I was working in Ascot near London and once I had my day off I spent it wandering around London and witnessing the capital getting ready for the Olympics…but about that I will write more in a couple of days ;) Each shop display on Oxford Street or Regent’s Street was carefully designed. You couldn’t just pass by without stopping to secretly admire the art of showing the pride of being British. For me it was a piece of art. Brits were so proud and were so united these days. They were one nation having over nations from all over the world and they weren’t only cheering  for the GB Team but for all athletes.
